OUR STORY

Analyss Benally is one of the first Navajo professional basketball players, but more importantly, she is deeply rooted in her community and the values that shaped her. Growing up, basketball became more than just a game—it was a path that carried her from her home to the collegiate level and eventually to playing professionally overseas. Through every step of her journey, Analyss has remained committed to representing where she comes from and creating opportunities for the next generation of Native athletes.

ABFive began as a simple family Facebook page created to keep friends and relatives updated on Analyss’ college and professional basketball journey.

Following her first professional season in Romania (2021–2022), Analyss’ father, Brian Benally, encouraged her to give back to her community through basketball camps. These camps were created as a way for Analyss to share the drills, skills, knowledge, and experiences she gained from playing at the collegiate and professional levels with the next generation.

Over the past four years, ABFive has built a strong foundation across the Southwest, traveling to multiple states and reservations to host camps and serve as a resource for Native American communities nationwide. With more than 55 camps hosted, ABFive continues to grow, expanding its reach and sharing the knowledge and experience of one of the first Navajo professional basketball players.

ABFive’s mission is to inspire, encourage, and uplift Native American youth—not only to succeed, but to return home and give back to their communities. The goal is to empower future generations and show that where they come from is not a disadvantage, but a source of strength and pride.
